The LBS MiM deadline you may have just missed was not the one that matters

LBS Masters in Management from India: Fees, Cohort, and the Application Window

If you are a final-year engineer in Pune or Bengaluru who opened the LBS site this week and saw that Stage 1 closed on 5 October 2026, please do not panic-submit a half-written file to Stage 2. The deadline that decides your money is not the first one. This post is for Indian students with zero to two years of experience weighing the LBS MiM from India, and it lays out the fee, the cohort and the application window in one place.

What the LBS MiM from India costs, line by line

London Business School lists tuition at £52,950 for the 2026 intake, plus a £200 Student Association fee (LBS Masters in Management). No 2027 rate is published yet, so budget for a modest rise. The programme runs 12 to 16 months depending on the electives and internship track you choose.

At roughly ₹108 per pound, £53,150 is about ₹57 lakh before you buy a flight or sign a lease. The UK visa maintenance requirement is £1,529 a month for up to nine months, or £13,761, and that is proof of funds rather than an estimate of what you will spend (MiM Essay fee breakdown). Add it and the cash you must show is about £66,900, close to ₹72 lakh.

Two payment details catch families out. A £2,000 commitment fee falls due about four weeks after an offer and a £6,000 reservation fee about six weeks after, both non-refundable but deducted from tuition. The application fee is £125. If you are applying to four or five European schools, you will have committed £8,000 to LBS before you know what the other offers look like. Our MiM fees analysis compares that structure across schools.

The cohort: about 405 students and no dominant nationality

A third-party summary of the 2027 intake reports a class of roughly 405, 92 percent international, from more than 65 countries, with no single nationality dominating (MiM in Europe). It quotes a class-average GMAT of 690, a typical admit range of 640 to 730, and no published minimum. LBS itself lists no minimum score either and says only that a strong score helps.

Be careful with what is not published. The Indian share is not stated on the school page, and the acceptance rate is not official. Treat any "11 percent" or "doubled in three cycles" claim as unverified unless it cites an LBS report. Earlier, we covered how the LBS MiM class profile reads for Indian applicants, including why the experience rule is misunderstood.

The experience rule itself is simple. You need to have graduated within the last two years and hold no more than two years of postgraduate work experience, and internships during your studies do not count. A 25-year-old with three years at an IT services firm is not a MiM candidate. That person belongs in the MBA abroad conversation.

The application window: four stages, one that matters most

The August 2027 intake (the school calls it MiM2028) has four stages, each closing at 23:59 UK time (MiM in Europe).

Stage Deadline Final decision
1 5 Oct 2026 10 Dec 2026
2 6 Jan 2027 11 Mar 2027
3 8 Mar 2027 6 May 2027
4 4 May 2027 17 Jun 2027

The scholarship cut-off is 8 March 2027, which is Stage 3. LBS offers a Merit Scholarship of up to £20,000, a separate one for women of up to £20,000, and four Laidlaw Women's Leadership Fund awards covering full tuition. About 20 percent of the Graduate Masters class receives scholarship funding. Admitted students are considered automatically for awards they qualify for.

Here is the contrarian part. Stage 4 closes on 4 May, but for money the real last call is Stage 3. Stage 1 has already gone. That leaves Stage 2 and Stage 3 as your working window, and the sensible plan for most Indian applicants is Stage 2 if your GMAT and essays are ready, and Stage 3 if either is not. Applying earlier does not buy you a higher scholarship, but applying after 8 March means you compete for seats without funding. Our MiM scholarships guide covers the other schools' cut-offs.

If you are a final-year student from a tier-one Indian college

You have a campus placement offer in hand or in sight, so your question is whether LBS beats starting work in India. The honest answer depends on the sector. LBS reports that 92 percent of graduates received an offer within three months, with salaries reaching £102,593 and nearly half of roles in the UK (LBS). Note "reaching": that is a top figure, not an average. Do not model your loan on it. Ask the careers office for the median and for how many offers in your target function went to non-UK passport holders.

If you are a tier-two or tier-three college graduate

Your risk is not the GMAT. It is the story. With a class of about 405 drawn from 65 countries, nobody on the committee has seen your college, so the application has to show evidence: a live project, an internship with measurable output, a leadership role with a result. This is where application editing earns its fee, and where a profile evaluation before the January deadline will tell you whether Stage 2 is realistic.

What the Graduate Route change does to the payback

The UK is cutting the Graduate Route from two years to 18 months for applications from 1 January 2027, and the change attaches to the visa application, not the course start (ICEF Monitor). A student starting in August 2027 and finishing in late 2028 will get the shorter window. Eighteen months is enough to convert a summer internship into a sponsored role if you network in term one, and not enough if you wait.

Common questions Indian applicants are asking

Is the LBS MiM worth ₹72 lakh? Only if the London or European job is realistic for you. Price the degree at the full £66,900 proof-of-funds level, subtract any scholarship, and compare with the offers you already hold. If your plan is to return to India within two years, the brand helps but the premium is hard to recover. Our Europe MiM comparison shows cheaper routes.

Can I apply after the 8 March scholarship cut-off? Yes, in Stage 4 on 4 May 2027, but you would not be considered for the merit awards tied to the earlier date.

Do I need a GMAT for the LBS MiM? No minimum is published, but a score helps and the class average is about 690. Plan for 680 to 700 if you are an Indian engineer, because that is the slice of the pool you are compared against.

How long is the LBS MiM? Between 12 and 16 months, depending on how you structure electives and internships.
